On October 18, 2020, Passcodes or Waiting Rooms will be needed for Zoom for Government accounts with fewer than 100 licenses. For Zoom accounts with a single licensed user, for Pro accounts with 2 or more licenses, and for Business accounts with 10 to 100 licenses, meeting attendees will be required to enter a passcode or use a waiting room as of September 27. All free accounts are required to have meeting passwords (passcodes). Versions 4.5.0 and higher are required on Zoom Room computers and controllers in order to use this feature. An invitation to the meeting must include the passcode. It allows them to join meetings directly from the meeting list, rather than having to enter a password. In addition, Zoom Rooms has an option called Bypass the passcode when joining a meeting from the meeting list.
